When I was little, every Christmas Eve we would take a drive around town to look at the Christmas lights after dinner. We would oooh and ahhh over each display, talking about all the pretty colors and designs, and every so often, breaking out into our favorite Christmas carols. By the time we got home, we were even more excited about the holiday! All of us would change into our cozy seasonal pajamas and gather in the living room for family board games. Of course, all this excitement meant that we had worked up quite an appetite, so my mom would lay out a spread of yummy snacks.
Tea Time Collection
Some things changed from year to year but there were some foods that we always insisted on. It just wasn’t Christmas until my grandma’s homemade pickles (grew the cucumbers herself), my mom’s special dip, and the Hickory Farms summer sausage and a Hickory Farms cheese ball was put out on the table. Even though I’m older now, we all still make sure that this is a tradition that continues. I get so excited when I see the Hickory Farms Holiday Market Stores and kiosks begin to open because I know it means that the holidays and some cherished family time are on their way.

Hickory Farms has been a part of our holiday since before I was born (for more than 60 years now!) and I can’t imagine a holiday without it. The desert options are definitely my favorite. Even as family members move away or new ones are born, these traditions help us remember where we came from. We may have to adapt our traditions a little bit over the years – sending Hickory Farms gift boxes to those who can’t be with us in person – but the connection to our treasured past is still there. Hickory Farms is proud to be a part of so many families’ special moments and to help us continue our family traditions as well as embracing some new ones. You can make them a part of your family holiday too by visiting one of the nearly 600 Holiday Market stores and kiosks across North America, looking for them in select retailers, or ordering online.
